About Bharatanatyam

About Bharatanatyam

India is a land with varied, rich and vibrant dance traditions. The art of natya, or dance drama, was so important in ancient India that it was referred to as the fifth Veda, a means for the illiterate majority to be educated in the scriptures, philosophy, mythology, science, craft, yoga and the ways of human nature. Today in India one can find seven major classical dance forms, several dance-drama forms and numerous regional folk dance forms.

Of these forms, Bharatanatyam is the most widely known within India and abroad. It is the classical dance style native to southern India, particularly the state of Tamil Nadu. Like other Indian classical forms, it exhibits two main components: nritta, or pure dance technique, featuring rhythmic footwork patterns and beautiful abstract movements of the body, and abhinaya, or expressional dance, featuring a vocabulary of hand gestures and facial expressions used to mime the words of the song. The pure dance technique of Bharatanatyam is marked by symmetrical lines of the body, exuberant leaps and bends contrasting with subtle neck and eye movements, and crisp, intricate footwork. The lyrical content of the songs used for the expressional dance of Bharatanatyam is primarily devotional or mythological. Its purpose is not merely to entertain but to inspire, uplift, transform, and ultimately to carry both the dancer and viewer closer to knowledge of the Divine.

With ancient roots more than 2000 years old, Bharatanatyam evolved over the centuries taking its present form some 250 years ago. It was traditionally a solo dance form performed by women within the temple precincts as part of the daily worship ritual. In the 20th century, Bharatanatyam emerged from the temple to take its place as one of India's premier theater art forms. Despite its secular setting, the devotional lyrics of this dance form ensure its deep spiritual connection to Hindu tradition. Today, Bharatanatyam is learned and performed by men and women of all classes in India and abroad.

Indian Stock Market Tips Today

Hi,

I saw many websites about Indian Stock Market Trading Tips and services all. But many sites they are giving the best services to their clients. It's really wonderful job, like i can share some other sites, but you all might known about their services, some people are satisfied with their services, some other people not like that. I am at Chennai, actually i like to start my share market account (D-mate A/c) so, i started to discuss about this from my all friends, they have suggest me like Share khan, Venture, Chozhamandalam, etc..etc....they are all good. But how do i predict about the share market movements, how is going to give the best tips? i got struggle, because my one of the friend told me, that this share market movement and all we can't predict, and you have to get to know more knowledge about the specified company, that which company you are going to invest like that.

Dear all, I like to share about Indian Stock Market, what i have read in the Tips4trade.com Website. It was really interesting to me, thats what i like to share this to my all blog readers. If you have any comments just feel free to post here. Amousia Online will welcome your comments. :) Now you go ahead and read.

Why the Indian markets are falling

It all started with the US subprime problem and the global credit crunch, which led the BSE Sensex nosediving from its peak of 21,206 on January 10, 2008 to 14,677 on March 18. A part of the fall can also be attributed to the concerns pertaining to the increase in crude oil prices and its impact on India's economic growth.
Some of the early signs were also visible from rising inflation and the slowdown in domestic industrial production numbers. This further led to concerns over high interest rates, slowdown in GDP and thus, corporate earnings as well.
Sensing these developments, foreign institutional investors were the first ones to move out of the market, and they partly became the reason for the markets to fall.
End of the bloodbath?
If the global and domestic problems persist, experts predict the Sensex to fall to 12,000-14,500 levels. Though bold and unbelievable, there are few players who are predicting that the Sensex may touch the 9,000 levels.
While we are not predicting the Sensex levels, we jot down and bring certain factors that may determine the future course of the markets and what investors should do during these uncertain times.
Crude realities
No investor will be willing to invest in an asset headed for reporting lower profits and no asset can be profitable if costs are higher than realisations.
Crude oil is one such commodity, whether it is the economy (macro) or corporate profitability (micro), which is considered to be the source of most of the problems.
While crude oil prices had corrected to $125 levels, after crossing $135 a barrel mark, it again scaled a new peak of $139.12 a barrel last week. There are reports predicting that it will go to $150 to $200 a barrel.
There are several reasons attributed to the recent spike in the crude oil prices including increased financial investments and a marginal rise in costs of oil production.
Whether the crude oil price rises to such high levels or not, experts suggest that the good old days of cheap oil may be gone for a long time to come.
Bloating deficit
According to studies, a $10 increase in the crude oil prices may reduce India's GDP growth by about 0.3 percentage points and an increase in the consumer price index by 1.2 percentage points.
India imports about 70 per cent of its oil requirements, suggesting that at current levels, it will have to pay a significantly higher amount to meet demand. It has already led to a large trade deficit (over 7 per cent of the GDP).
How they compare
Fiscal deficit, which is currently at about 3 per cent of the GDP, could reach to 10 per cent levels if the fertiliser, food, farm and oil subsidies are added.
Hence, further rise in crude oil prices will only make things worse. Not only this, rising oil will have serious consequences on others things as well.
"If crude oil touches $150 levels and sustains there, it will be a crude awakening for the global as well as for India. India's annual import bill will touch to $140 billion against the $78 billion estimated for the FY08," says Devendra Nevgi, CEO and CIO, Quantum Mutual Fund.
High inflation
High crude oil prices would have a sweeping impact on the Indian economy.
To put forth some of them: Higher inflation rate, rupee depreciation, increasing trade account and fiscal deficit, and firm interest rates. The other side of an oil shock would probably the ensuing political instability and social unrest.
Sector fortunes
The inflation rate, which is already high at over 8 per cent, could emerge as a key concern. Economists share different views with regards to inflation reaching the double digit figure in the short term, and if not, it could range at about 7-8 per cent, especially after the recent hike in the petrol and diesel prices

Deeksha - (Activation - Initiation - Meditation)

Dear Friends,

Today I am really proud to share about “Deeksha”. I hope some what, we all known about “Deeksha”. But we don’t know how it’s going to work in our body, and what will be the result after we get the “Deeksha”. Now I will share some brief information about “Deeksha”.

“Deeksha” is a transfer of Divine energy that is so powerful it has the ability to break through the concept and conditioning of our mind. This state of enlightenment is offered to seekers through a process known as “Deeksha”.

See blow picture, when you received the “Deeksha” how it works in your mind, body, and soul.

Bhagavan says, "The mind of man is like a wall which divides man from God. The “Deeksha” is an electrical energy that makes a hole in this wall, which we call the mind. Once this happens, then God and man can come to relate to each other."

The act of receiving “Deeksha” involves a special process where a qualified Deeksha Giver places their hands upon your head and, in a state of divine union, becomes a channel for cosmic energies directed by Bhagavan and Amma.

Yes dear friends, I really proud to be with Kalki Bhagavan and Amma. They are giving so much of transformations and I realize what I had done before, what I need to do for me, my parents, friends, and for this society. And I came to known, how to pray with God.

See friends, when a “Deeksha” is received a neurobiological process takes place in the brain. Bhagavan refers to this process as 'Divine Surgery' where certain parts of the brain become activated and other parts are deactivated, enabling us to experience cosmic realities and oneness.

Activation ... Initiation ... Meditation ... Same ideas recycled since the beginning of time and goes to wanting one's powers back ... lost in physical reality. Whatever it takes to get you there. Mind over matter as it is all mind/consciousness.

I guess I've heard too many theories, channels, ascended masters, religious icons, healing modalities, and have to wonder why people don't understand that it all goes to the same source, a consciousness grid.

Ok, let me talk about “Bhagavan Amma” and “Dharma” (web reference : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhagavan_and_Amma)

Kalki Bhagavan' (b. March 7, 1949) ) is a respected Indian religious figure, and the founder of the new religious movement known variously as Oneness University, Kalki Dharma, Bhagavad Dharma, and the Golden Age Foundation. He was born Vijay Kumar in Arcot district, TamilNadu.

Bhagavan and Amma are two divine beings, residing at Golden City, near Chennai, in India. Their sole mission is to bring all of humanity into the Golden Age. Their vision is to fully enlighten 64,000 people in the world. These people in a highly enlightened state of communion will transform the rest of the humanity by 2012. The gift of enlightenment is offered to humanity by Bhagavan and Amma, and is available to all genuine seekers.

See below links, Sri Bhagavan speech about What is Enlightenment? and Enlightenment and Deeksha - Sri Bhagavan

Also click this, Shri Bhagavan speech for Youth it will really useful to all of us.

Be with God; be a human.

My best wishes always with you forever.

The History of Valentine's Day

Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday? The history of Valentine's Day -- and its patron saint -- is shrouded in mystery. But we do know that February has long been a month of romance. St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. So, who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred.

One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

While some believe that Valentine's Day is celebrated in the middle of February to commemorate the anniversary of Valentine's death or burial -- which probably occurred around 270 A.D -- others claim that the Christian church may have decided to celebrate Valentine's feast day in the middle of February in an effort to 'christianize' celebrations of the pagan Lupercalia festival. In ancient Rome, February was the official beginning of spring and was considered a time for purification. Houses were ritually cleansed by sweeping them out and then sprinkling salt and a type of wheat called spelt throughout their interiors. Lupercalia, which began at the ides of February, February 15, was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture, as well as to the Roman founders Romulus and Remus.

To begin the festival, members of the Luperci, an order of Roman priests, would gather at the sacred cave where the infants Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome, were believed to have been cared for by a she-wolf or lupa. The priests would then sacrifice a goat, for fertility, and a dog, for purification.

The boys then sliced the goat's hide into strips, dipped them in the sacrificial blood and took to the streets, gently slapping both women and fields of crops with the goathide strips. Far from being fearful, Roman women welcomed being touched with the hides because it was believed the strips would make them more fertile in the coming year. Later in the day, according to legend, all the young women in the city would place their names in a big urn. The city's bachelors would then each choose a name out of the urn and become paired for the year with his chosen woman. These matches often ended in marriage. Pope Gelasius declared February 14 St. Valentine's Day around 498 A.D. The Roman 'lottery' system for romantic pairing was deemed un-Christian and outlawed. Later, during the Middle Ages, it was commonly believed in France and England that February 14 was the beginning of birds' mating season, which added to the idea that the middle of February -- Valentine's Day -- should be a day for romance. The oldest known valentine still in existence today was a poem written by Charles, Duke of Orleans to his wife while he was imprisoned in the Tower of London following his capture at the Battle of Agincourt. The greeting, which was written in 1415, is part of the manuscript collection of the British Library in London, England. Several years later, it is believed that King Henry V hired a writer named John Lydgate to compose a valentine note to Catherine of Valois.

In Great Britain, Valentine's Day began to be popularly celebrated around the seventeenth century. By the middle of the eighteenth century, it was common for friends and lovers in all social classes to exchange small tokens of affection or handwritten notes. By the end of the century, printed cards began to replace written letters due to improvements in printing technology. Ready-made cards were an easy way for people to express their emotions in a time when direct expression of one's feelings was discouraged. Cheaper postage rates also contributed to an increase in the popularity of sending Valentine's Day greetings. Americans probably began exchanging hand-made valentines in the early 1700s. In the 1840s, Esther A. Howland began to sell the first mass-produced valentines in America.

According to the Greeting Card Association, an estimated one billion valentine cards are sent each year, making Valentine's Day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year. (An estimated 2.6 billion cards are sent for Christmas.)

Approximately 85 percent of all valentines are purchased by women. In addition to the United States, Valentine's Day is celebrated in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia.

Valentine greetings were popular as far back as the Middle Ages (written Valentine's didn't begin to appear until after 1400), and the oldest known Valentine card is on display at the British Museum. The first commercial Valentine's Day greeting cards produced in the U.S. were created in the 1840s by Esther A. Howland. Howland, known as the Mother of the Valentine, made elaborate creations with real lace, ribbons and colorful pictures known as "scrap".

Do you need successful tips for your small business website?

That’s it. You’re ready to tap into the online market. But where should you start? There are all sorts of websites out there, and clearly some of them are working much harder than others. How can you be sure your website will be a champion?

The key? Planning and Strategy. Think of your website as an employee and make sure you hire the right one. If you approach this project with clear goals in mind, you will be rewarded with a lucrative asset to your business. What’s most important? The questions below will get you started.

1. What are your specific business goals?

How could your website help you achieve them? Need to increase add-on sales? Your website could educate customers about using your products or services together for greater value. Need to reduce time spent in customer service on the phone? You can promote your website as your primary customer service centre, helping to redirect queries that can be easily solved. A little time spent planning a job description for your site will result in a website that works harder for your money.

2. Who is your target market?

What are they looking for in your type of business? Your website will have to appeal to them and speak to their needs. If your site clearly addresses your customers’ needs, visitors will spend more time there and will be more likely to become paying customers. How can your website add value for them? If you need ideas have a look at competitor websites and imagine you are their customer. Identify what they have done well and capitalize on their mistakes. Look at other websites that you like. How did they make such a good impression?

3. What do customers like best about your business?

Is it your high quality products? Your value for money? Your speedy customer service? Your friendly staff? Whatever it is your website should reflect those aspects of your business. They are what set you apart. If you’re not sure why people come back to you consider undertaking a customer satisfaction survey to find out.

4. Do you have identifiable branding that represents the unique personality of your business?

If not, develop a branding identity that will set you apart from competitors, starting with a logo that communicates the character of your business. The visual design of your website is an extension of your brand identity. Be sure your website is dressed for success and represents your business as nothing less than credible and professional.

5. Do you have the time and skills to prepare your own content?

Be realistic here. Your written text should be concise, focus on customer needs, and use language that your customers understand. If writing isn’t your thing, consider hiring a copywriter to massage your copy or even write it for you. Make use of images and video where it will be useful to customers. If you don’t have quality images at hand, consider hiring a photographer or buying stock photography. Don’t be tempted to cut corners and compromise quality just to save a few bucks. The impact of your content is critical to your website’s success.

6. How can you take advantage of interactivity?

There’s no substitute for experiencing your product or service in person, but as this may be your only chance to make an impression, make the most of it! Establish what your customers are interested in, give it to them and lead them to action through the interactive nature of the internet. Engage them with online competitions, printable discount vouchers, product demonstrations, live help, customer feedback surveys, etc. Interactivity can also be a great way to build your customer database or gather market research about your visitors.

7. What is a realistic budget for your website?

To plan and implement a website strategy you’ll need to invest upwards of a few thousand dollars to do it right the first time. Think carefully about your budget. Does it seem reasonable given your business goals? Think about the bottom line benefits in terms of potential cost savings as well as revenue potential.

8. How can you promote your website?

First and foremost, put your domain name on everything! Letterhead, invoices, signs, sales tags, whatever you can. It’s much easier to remember a website address than a phone number. To attract new customers via the internet you’ll need to harness the search engines. Search engine marketing involves optimizing your website so it’s visible to customers searching for your type of business. If you are in a competitive market, you may need to budget for comprehensive search engine optimization for your site. If you’re looking at search engines as a major source of new customers you may also consider adding ‘pay-per-click’ advertising to the mix.

9. Will you manage your own updates?

Keeping your website fresh provides a reason for visitors to return to your website. If you plan to make regular content updates, consider investing in a Content Management System costing as little as a few hundred dollars. It makes more sense to pay your website developer for ongoing development rather than simple changes to content that you can make yourself.

10. How do you know if your website is a champion?

After your site has been live for several months, quantify the gains generated by your website and identify the impact your investment has made on the business. Using software tools you can establish which parts of your website are performing well, and which parts need tweaking. A website strategy is never really complete. You can always improve on the status quo. Set a regular schedule for review and don’t forget to budget for strategy changes and ongoing development.

Getting started

Now that you have the key elements, concentrate on the area that you know best…your business. Whatever your goals make sure you work with a web developer who can help you fine-tune your ideas and turn them into a profitable website strategy
